10 Out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes
In the event of a dispute between buyer and seller, a complaint may be filed with the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, or a mediation proposal may be submitted to mediation centres.
Proceedings before the courts of honour are conducted in accordance with the Rules of the Court of Honour at the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Rules of the Court of Honour at the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, which prescribe that the members of these courts' chambers include, in addition to independent legal experts and representatives of traders, consumer representatives. Mediation before a mediation centre is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Croatian Mediation Act and the Rules of Mediation of the mediation centre.
The Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts will, with the consent of the minister responsible for consumer protection, adopt decisions on the costs of proceedings before the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
